Students4Democracy (SfD) is intended to be a platform for people from all over the world to talk about what they want the world to look like and what needs to be done for that. It doesn't matter where you are from or what you believe in. Contribute and you will be welcome.
The more colorful the better!

StudentsforDemocracy provides an international discussion board with debates, chats and challenges; politics and economy as well as social, environmental and historical issues being the main topics.

English being the main language should not keep anyone from posting in any other language. You are welcome whatever you have to say and in whatever language that might be.

As long as you are following the very few rules on SfD you will be an appreciated member of Students4democracy.

This non-profit site is completely independent and not related to any other sites, political parties or organisations of any kind. Therefore your posts will never get censored because of the content and its ideological direction. Uncensored diversity is what you will encounter throughout the forums.

And now - post away ;-)

http://www.students4democracy.org

SfD's introduction to the visitor is old, inaccurate, not very descriptive and was written in a hurry. Nonetheless it is the first thing visitors will read and it is the very description that gets indexed by all search engines.

It is really time that we change that introduction to something more fitting, and to something that will make it easier to find SfD through search engines when people are looking for websites with political debates.

I would like to encourage all of you to edit the text, to add or to remove parts of it or to write an entirly new description on your own. It might work if somebody starts with one or two lines and then everybody else could another one until we have an introduction that would describe SfD as what it is and also boost us in the search engine results. The introduction can contain provocations, irony, fun, aggression, questions, whatever you can think of.

If we get more than 1 good introduction I would set up all of them, randomized. One visitor would get a funny description, another one a provocation, a third one a dictionary-like text. Just a suggestion.

Think of the introduction as a commercial for SfD.

Just an idea.

I would start by eliminating;

It sounds to much like SfD has an agenda.

I think of this site more as an exchange of ideas, or better yet communication between different peoples.

The "what needs to be done for that" begs the question of what "that" is to be accomplished.

Maybe it will be more fruitful when I start with a few words for an ironical introduction of SfD.

Quote:

Are you looking for forums where a lot of cussing is going on and  flame wars are the primary subject? You can insult others in 2000 different ways?

Do you have a 100 Megs of incredibly funny "You got owned" and "You suck!" pictures on your hard drive that you must share at least twice in every post?

Do you have nothing to say but to agree with all those posts that are fitting into your personal point of view?

Is all what you intend to do posting hundreds of really important links that everybody should visit?

Do you need protection by an admin or a moderator when your post is challenged?

Do you only post on forums where 99% of the people are sharing the same point of view?

Is it a problem for you when people are posting in a really bad English, and this is hurting your sense for proper language because you are posting in no lesser than Shakespeare-style?

Do you just love discussions about whom should get banned from the forums because he is such an incredible ass that he dared to prove your post to be 100% wrong?

Is your main point that all Conservatives, Liberals, Capitalists, Communists, Americans, Europeans, Asians, Australians, Africans or whomever else suck and always sucked?

Can you fill pages with stuff about how perfect you are, how you are better than anybody else on the forum and how you are the only one who was fed with the one and only truth since he was born?

Are you a racist, are you going to the Gym to improve the muscles in your right arm for your daily "Hail Hitler!", do you think that blacks, Jews, Arabs, Americans or whomever else are an inferior race/group that should simply disappear?

........

........

.......

Well, then you have found the site where you are not welcome at all. Go away and post whatever you want wherever you want, but not here!

All others are very welcome to participate in the most intelligent, respectful and friendly but nonetheless challenging debates on the internet!

Only on the political forums of www.students4democracy.org !

No it is up to you to add some stuff, to change it and to turn it into an introduction that will people either force to hate us or to sign up.

Don't be shy!

Our main page is now displaying one of both introductions, randomly chosen.

http://www.students4democracy.org (reload the page)

Please add your own ideas or even write an own introduction, in whatever style, long or short! You can even post it as a guest here when you do not want to be identified as the author.

The more we are getting the more chances we have that people will find SfD in the search engines. Our main page is getting heavily indexed by all search engines, so whatever you will put into the introduction will appear on Google when people are searching for it.

For all those who find SfD a little low right now this is the chance for you to get more people visiting SfD, and you could make the difference, it is up to you! The better you figure what people are searching for when they are looking for debates and the better you are integrating this into your text the more people will find us.

All introductions will get the same chance to appear on the homepage. Right now it is a 50% chance for both, with a third they would all have a 33% chance, and so on.

I am sure any of you could do better.

By the way, all languages welcome, that is valid as well for our introduction.
