Fundamentalism sure gets a lot of attention these days. What worries me is that Christian fundamentalism is left out in this discussion more or less. Take a wander through the net and check out some "Christian" sites, you'll be shocked!
They promote spousal abuse, child abuse, they are trying to undermine any authority that is not "approved" by them, they refuse to "participate" in a secular community by for example not letting their kids attend state run schools.
IMHO, they are a very serious threat to freedom, not only in the US but everywhere in the world!

Anybody up for this topic?

Yes. You are an idiot. Like it or not, we are still a Christian country.
Spousal and child abuse? Mind naming your sources? And please do not insult me with some weird geocity site, okay?

Imagine a human sitting there and then narrate more about being Christian.

Christianity in Florida:

"Blood poured from the chest and mouth of convicted killer Allen Lee Davis as he was electrocuted early Thursday in Florida's first use of its new electric chair. Davis let out two muffled screams from behind a chin mask after four guards strapped him into the electric chair. As the 2,300 volts of electricity began to surge through the metal cap on his head, Davis jerked back against the oak chair, his fists clenched. A tiny trickle of blood began to stain his white long-sleeved dress shirt as witnesses watching the execution behind glass gasped in horror. Corrections officers in the death chamber looked at each other in alarm, their eyes wide. None of them moved, but watched as the blood thickened. The blood continued to seep, leaking through the buckle holes in the thick leather restraints. It created a stain 6 to 8 inches in diameter across Davis' chest, from below his breastbone to nearly the top of his dark blue dress pants and black belt. A small spot of blood was visible under his right collar and when doctors lifted up the death mask to check his eyelids, his mouth appeared to be bleeding. The black-hooded executioner flipped the switch at 7:05 and power was shut off at 7:07, corrections officials said"

I don't show pictures because they are hard to stand.

So you don't like the death penality. now, why doesn't that surprise me??? You take a life- your life is taken as well. Pretty easy. Don't want that to happen to you? Well, just abide by the laws! The only problem with the dp is that it is used way to little.

Excuse me? It's not like I'm making this up as a lark or something. Did you ever check out any site that calls itself "Christian"??? Why don't you check out some "family" sites, where advise such as "Spare the rod and spoil the child" is given out? How about the sites that tell you how to spot "homosexual behavior" in your children and stomp it out?
And what about all this whining about being being "persecuted"? Christians are constantly whining about being discriminated while they really are the rulers of not only this country but try to expand their power to any country there is! Ok, I'll hand you that much: Mission is your job, the bible tells you that much. But then again I don't think that suggestion covers the raping of a continent (Africa) and calling for new crusades.

Nope.  I'm not talking about the death penality, but about your claim of being a Christian nation. What's your latest name for the electric chairs? "Christian Freedom Fryer"?

I think it was in Utah (not sure about it) where they even shoot people.

Far as I know, Utah gives you a right to choose between whatever and a bullet due to the fact that mormons believe, they can only be washed clean of their sins if their blood is spilled.

How many more Christian ways to kill people exist in US? Can I chose to be nailed on a cross too?
